Currently, team members of The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital provide services in the following departments:
Acute Medical/Surgical Care offers complete inpatient and outpatient care provided by a qualified, competent nursing staff. Our focus is to provide personalized, family-centered care to assist our patients in meeting their individual health care needs.
Cardiopulmonary Services are comprehensive in scope and offer a skilled staff, a comfortable environment and modern technology. Services include EKG and EEG, stress testing, pulmonary function testing, breathing treatments, pulse oximetry, Holter monitoring, ventilator care, blood gas analysis, and patient education.
Critical Care Services offer patients advanced technology and skilled nursing care to provide comprehensive cardiac monitoring, specialized treatment, and personalized attention during hospitalization.
Discharge Planning staff members work closely with the patient, physician, and family to coordinate aftercare – from the moment the patient is admitted. In addition to discharge planning, which may include long-term care placement or home health care, our staff serves as a resource for educating patients and their families about insurance options and reimbursement, as well as community outreach services.
Emergency Services are staffed every day, around the clock by qualified physicians and skilled nurses, and are focused on advanced
technology and personalized, one-to-one attention for our patients. Our physicians and nurses are specially-trained in emergency medicine and have been certified in emergency programs such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
The Extended Care Facility is a skilled and intermediate unit that provides nursing service for those patients needing long-term care.
Home Health Services are focused on patient recovery in the familiar surroundings of home. We provide skilled nursing, home health aides, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and dietary consultation. Home Health Services focus not only on medical care, but on patient and family education as well.
Laboratory Services staff are available 24-hours-a-day, providing outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care. Our staff performs high-complexity testing such as bacteriology, therapeutic drug testing, and full chemistry panels. The laboratory is COLA accredited.
Pediatric Services include a wide range of medical care, adapted for children. Most of our services, such as inpatient hospitalization, physical therapy, laboratory testing, surgery, radiology, home health, and emergency care all include the necessary technology and staff training to care for children.
Radiology Services include state-of-the-art technology, offering CT scanning, open MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound and mammography services, which are fully accredited by the American College of Radiology. In addition, many of our Radiology staff members have passed stringent requirements to become certified in their particular specialties.
Rehabilitation Services feature a highly specialized staff devoted to assisting each patient to obtain his or her maximum levels of health and functioning. Our hands-on approach focuses on the individual needs of each patient. We specialize in the treatment of orthopedic disorders, sports, and work related injuries, spinal pain, and general neurologic disorders. Consultative services are available to businesses on work injury management and prevention.
Surgical Services feature skilled physicians and staff performing several innovative procedures through the use of highly-complex equipment that utilizes advanced medical technology and research. We perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient surgeries, including gynecological, urological, ear, nose, and throat, pediatric, orthopedic, ophthalmologic, and general procedures.
Swing beds are available for patients who do not require an acute level of inpatient care, but who need further rehabilitation prior to being discharged to home or to a long-term care unit.
